Computer Controlled Christmas Lights

Is it going to happen this year,
i honestly don't know with all the delays
and problems to get the parts required to complete the
project, at the moment I'm playing it by ear, but if it works out I'll update
this page, i am in process of getting the major components, one of these components is
wire 2 core infact and lots of it, I've come to a conclusion that i need of about 2 kms of it
yes a lot of wire, my original plan was taking to long and my new plan is more expensive but
atleast very few things can go wrong, all the same i may have Christmas lights up for this year,
but weather they be switching via a computer i don't know we'll just have to wait and see..

*24/03/2009*	for the last few months i have been slowly receiving parts on my parts list for my planned computer controlled lights for this years light up, i'm hoping to complete the 200+ channel controller/ssr by mid year, progress on the controller updates will progress as time nears for completion of the controller / SSR devices...
*24/03/2009*	i'm nearing quarter way for start of the main power board with wiring of power sockets for power packs. installation of safety circuit breakers, mains input power internal lighting and switch boards and possible use of inverters...
*08/04/2009*	Progress with a slight change to plans recently i've had some trouble acquiring some components for connections i've changed to 2 pin dins so instead of removing original plug from some items i've decided to make extension cables instead i now have a larger source for components and it makes the task a little less expensive, acquiring cables and power sockets, din line plugs for matching device sockets, Acquired 35 power sockets 200meters of 2Kms of cable, new controller design in progress, and new SSR design in progress...

*01/06/2009*	crikey: time flies when you're waiting for parts, Acquired another 200 meters of wire giving a total of 600meters of 2Kms of cable Required and another 0 single power points a total of 37 of 100 Required as you noticed these single power points are hard to come by, not that there really expensive just the lack of them, these are single points I've chosen because of there profile heights.

*14/07/2009*	Acquired another 100 meters of wire giving a current total of 1.1Kms of 2.3Kms of cable Required, time nearing construction of the low voltage power runs soon to commence as soon as the controller boxes and SSR Boxes are wired and plugs are installed....
*18/07/2009*	Measurements taken for some of the cable runs totaling over 1500meters, each of the 7 items for this part of the project, there will 8 sets of lights per item, this part of the project will contain at least 1100 leds per item.
*27/07/2009*	Acquired another 100 meters of wire giving a total of 1.2Kms of the 2.3Kms of cable required for the project, the power board construction is at a stand still as i'm not able to proceed as I'm unable to acquire low profile single power output sockets required for the 50+ plug packs.
*11/08/2009*	Acquired another 100 meters of wire giving a total of 1.3Kms of the 2.3Kms of cable required for the project, again unable to acquire low profile power sockets for the main power system, this for now is on hold, will be diverting progress to work on the cable runs and complete the controller and ssr switching...
*15/08/2009*	looks like I'm going to have to put the main power board on hold for this years use as I'm not able to complete this board in time as it appears the power outlet socket i'm acquiring have ceased manufacture, the high profile sockets i can get are just a tad to high in height even though i do have space height wise their diameter is to large for the project, I'm still looking for other sources for the low profile lower diameter sockets...
*15/08/2009*	Acquired another 100 meters of wire giving a total of 1.5Kms of the 2.3Kms of cable required for the project.. this currently gives almost the required amount for a part of the cable run required...
*15/08/2009*	shortly as some parts of the project have been put on hold I'll be ordering a complete set of solid state switching components for low power switching and circuit boards and other hardware
